Why Chiropractic?

Chiropractic Adjustments

A properly aligned spinal column empowers your nervous system to flow without interferences, releasing life to every cell, tissue and organ in your body. If you are experiencing health issues, your spinal column may be "subluxated" which means there are misalignments pinching nerves and causing joint fixations. When this happens, there is "less light" and energy that flows through your nervous system. If these misalignments are left out of place, in time, without specific adjustments, these subluxations can cause spinal degeneration, chronic pain, and decreased range of motion. Chiropractic care can help restore these misalignments, bringing peace to your body. Dr. Schmidt is specially trained to identify these misalignments, gently adjust the spinal bones back into their proper position, thereby improving the life flow to the rest of your body. Depending on the severity level of the misalignments and the muscles that have adapted to this position, relief can occur after one adjustment or may take an extensive care plan. Because you are unique, and your health issues vary from everyone else, we offer individualized care plans to meet your specific needs.

Children and Chiropractic Care

Chiropractor in Wyoming, MN, Dr. David Schmidt treats children, too.

Did you know that kids need chiropractic care too? Birth trauma, falls, sicknesses, and injuries are common in the life of a child. These stresses can cause spinal misalignments that can negatively affect their health. Chiropractic adjustments are safe and effective for kiddos, helping ensure that their spines and nervous systems are functioning at an optimal level. This helps increase their immune system, naturally equipping them to better handle outside stresses. Regular chiropractic care has been known to help with conditions such as ear infections, colic, gassy-re-flux issues and other child-related issues.

Specific Gonstead Technique

Dr. Schmidt is specially trained in the Gonstead Technique, which is specific chiropractic technique that consists of five components to locate and correct vertebral subluxations:

  1. X-rays
  2. Palpation to pinpoint locked joints
  3. Instrumentation to find heat differences using the Nervoscope
  4. Visual analysis of posture and gait
  5. Case management dealing with patient's symptoms and conditions

The Activator Technique

If you are an older patient, have had spinal surgeries, or are opposed to manual adjustments, Dr. Schmidt also uses the Activator, an instrument that applies a gentle force to the spine without any twisting or popping sounds. Much research has been done to prove the effectiveness of this instrument on patients experiencing spinal misalignments.
